Conclusion

A total of five trials including individual data from 797 patients were analysed. Healing was quicker after four layer bandaging: hazard ratio 1.31, 95 per cent confidence interval 1.09 to 1.58, P=0.005. The results were consistent across all types of ulcer. Side effect profiles of the two methods were similar
