Conclusion
Almost fifty thousand men aged 64 to 83 were originally included. After a mean of 12.8 years, overall there were 98 deaths from AAA in the control group, compared with 90 in the screening group: rate ratio 0.91, 95 per cent confidence interval 0.68 to 1.21.
