Conclusion

Over ten years there were 155 aneurysm-related deaths in the invited group and 296 in the control group. The relative risk reduction of aneurysm death was 48 per cent (95 per cent confidence interval 37 to 57 per cent), at a cost of £7600 per life year gained.
