Conclusion

This study included 200 procedures: half had pneumoperitoneum gas aspirated at the end of the procedure, and half had it released passively. Shoulder pain postoperatively was significantly lower at one hour (P=0.001) and 24h (P=0.021) in the aspirated group, but equivalent thereafter.
