Conclusion

This new method of pancreatic reconstruction reduced the rate of postoperative pancreatic fistula from 20.3 to 9 per cent (P=0.005) in this multicentre study that included 308 procedures. It seemed particularly beneficial when the pancreas was soft texture and the pancreatic duct not dilated.
