Conclusion
Semuloparin is a new ultra low molecular weight heparin. In this study that included 4413 patients, it was non-inferior to enoxaparin (postoperative venous thromboembolism or death 6.3 versus 5.5 per cent, respectively), without increased risk of serious bleeding (2.9 versus 4.5 per cent).
