Conclusion
A total of 206 legs were treated. Venous clinical scores and quality of life out to two years were similar in both groups. Eleven (10 per cent) of the microwave procedures caused skin burns. Recurrence at two years was higher after surgery: 28.2 versus 14.3 per cent; P=0.02.
