Conclusion

The study included 201 patients having surgery for both symptomatic and asymptomatic carotid disease and followed for a mean of 38 months. The perioperative rate of neurological complications was lower after eversion endarterectomy (3.9 vs. 12.1 per cent, P=0.029), as was the late restenosis rate: none vs. 6.1 per cent
