Conclusion

There was no significant difference in the rate of clinically relevant postoperative pancreatic fistula with (41, 30.6% per cent), or without (33, 24.3 per cent) TachoSil (P =0.276). Independent predictors of fistula were: hand-sewn pancreatic remnant closure (P =0.023) and splenic vessel ligation with splenic preservation (P =0.035).
