Conclusion

Patients with a leg ulcer for at least six months were randomly allocated to weekly treatment with ultrasound therapy for up to three months. At 12 months 72/168 in the ultrasound and 78/169 in the control group had ulcer healing (P=0.39). Recurrence rates and quality of life were also similar.
