Conclusion

This analysis that included 125,550 procedures showed no difference in perioperative thromboembolic events in tranexamic acid (2.1 per cent) or control groups (2.0 per cent). Tranexamic acid was associated with a reduction in overall deaths, and deaths from bleeding.
