Conclusion

3ml fibrin glue was applied to the mediastinum in half of the 43 procedures studied. There were no clinical differences in outcome, but glue increased the amount of fluid in the chest drains by a volume that was significant in the first 24h (457 ml vs. 298ml, p<0.05).
