Conclusion

In this study that included 217 procedures, weight loss and quality of life were similar at one year. Sleeve gastrectomy was quicker to perform (87 versus 108 min) and had fewer complications (8.4 versus 17.2 per cent, P=0.067). Gastric bypass was better at relieving symptoms of reflux.
