Conclusion

Only 23/404 original patients were alive after a mean of 12 years. Survival was similar after EVAR (5.3 per cent) or no EVAR (8.5 per cent), P=0.97. Aneurysm-related death was less common after EVAR: hazard ratio 0.55, 95 per cent confidence interval 0.34 to 0.91, P=0.019.
