Endovascular versus open repair of abdominal aortic aneurysm in 15-years’ follow-up of the UK endovascular aneurysm repair trial 1 (EVAR trial 1): a randomised controlled trial. Lancet 2016; 388: 2366–2374.

Conclusion
A total of 1252 patients were originally recruited. After a mean of 12.7 years, all cause mortality was similar between the groups. AAA-related mortality was higher after EVAR, mainly due to 13 late deaths from AAA rupture versus two after open repair, P=0.064.
