Conclusion

The study group had 75mg intraperitoneal ropivacaine before dissection, followed by slow intraperitoneal infusion for 3 days. The controls had a slaine infusion.The complication rates were similar in the two groups, but the active treatment reduced postoperative pain and speeded recovery.
