Conclusion

Eighty-one patients with high risk (mostly leg) wounds were included. Wound infection rates (6.8 versus 13.5 per cent with a dry dressing, P=0.46), dehiscence rates (36.4 versus 29.7 per cent, P=0.54) and reoperation rates (21 versus 22 per cent) were similar.
