Outcome of laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy with or without staple line oversewing in morbidly obese patients: a randomized study. J Lap Adv Surg Tech 2013; 23: 895-899.

Conclusion

The oversewing procedure took a mean of 22min longer in this study that included 60 operations. There were no anastomotic leaks in the oversewing group, but two in the group that had stapling alone.
