Primary fascial closure during laparoscopic ventral hernia repair improves patient quality of life. A multicenter, blinded randomized controlled trial. Ann Surg 2020; 271: 434-439

Conclusion

A total of 236 patients were included and followed for 24 months. There was no difference in the rate of hernia recurrence. Patients who had primary fascial closure had improved quality of life scores: 41.3 versus 28.7, P=0.047.
