Conclusion

Diathermy incision was quicker (6.1 vs. 7.5 s/cm, p<0.04), reduced blood loss (0.8 vs. 1.7 ml/cm, p=0.002) and reduced postoperative pain in the first 48h (p<0.05) in this trial of 100 elective operations
