Conclusion

Both treatments significantly improved both bowel and gynaecological symptoms, with no differences between them in subsequent quality of life scores. The total number of complications was higher after open surgery. Sixty percent of women achieved pregnancy; the rate was higher after laparoscopic surgery (P=0.006).
