Conclusion

Some 151 patients admitted to ITU following trauma were randomized to one of three groups: one had conventional treatment, one had fluid resuscitation guided by gastric tonometry, and the third had splanchnic perfusion optimised. All clinical outcomes including mortality rates were similar.
