Conclusion

The duodenal-jejunal bypass liner is an impermeable sleeve delivered endoscopically into the upper small bowel. After six months, use of the sleeve improved diabetic control and resulted in loss 32 per cent of excess weight, compared to 16.4 per cent in the control group (P<0.05).
