Conclusion

Postoperative complication rates were similar, but there was a higher incidence of adverse events (at least one of dermatitis, nausea, diarrhoea) in patients who had long-course, compared to short-course radiotherapy: 99.4 versus 72.3 per cent, P<0.001.
